ABA is defined as the process of systematically applying interventions based upon the principles of learning theory to improve socially significant behaviors, and to demonstrate that the interventions employed are responsible for the improvement in behavior (Baer, Wolf & Risley, 1968; Sulzer-Azaroff & Mayer, 1991). ABA is widely recognized as a safe and effective treatment for Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASDs). Over the past decade, nation has observed a dramatic increase in the use of ABA to help individuals with autism live productive lives.
